Pushkar Tourism Information



Pushkar is a one of the most important pilgrimage of Hindu religion.

According to believe a devotee Hindu should visit Pushkar once in a lifetime. The only temple of Lord Brahma is situated here.

This holy place situated at Aravalli hills, 11 km from Ajmer.

This spiritual town is located at the bank of lake and covered by mountains from three sides.

History of Pushkar:

The written history of this small holy place is not available, but according to believe a petal of lotus fall from the Brahma’s hand at this place and a holy Lake (Brahma Sarovar) developed. And later a small town developed near the Lake, named Pushkar.

Pushkar Tourist Attractions

Brahma Temple: The only temple of Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe (According to Hindu mythology), where devotees worship the Lord Brahma. This temple was built in 14th century and situated at the upper end of Braham Sarovar. The visit of this calm and fascinated temple provides you a peace of mind and soul.

Nasiyan Temple:

The red Jain temple belongs to Digambara sect of Jainism. This temple is a piece of architectural intelligence. The entire temple is adorned by marvelous work of gold, silver, precious stones and glasses on the every corner of temple. The temple also called Soni Ji Ki Nasiyan.

Adhai Din ka Jhonpra:

This building is an outstanding master piece of Indo-Islamic architecture was built only in two-and-a-half day. The monument has a glorifying seven pointed arches, with an artistic pillar on than the arches is stand with pride.

Pushkar Fair:

Pushkar fair is one of the biggest fair in its kind and this fair is provides biggest chance to know about Rajasthani Culture and tradition, therefore Pushkar fair attract the foreign tourist most. This fair organizes every year in the month of kartik (October or November). The main attraction of the fair is to trade of cattle and camels. People come from the rural areas of India and do the business especially of their camels and cattle. Devotees, Artists, Musicians, acrobats, Sadhus, Traders and Tourist reach here in large number during the fair and for a month Pushkar gets a new life.

Rangji temple, Savitri temple, Saraswati temple and Taragarh fort are some more places, where one should go for visit.
