Mussoorie Tourism Information



Mussoorie is one of the beautiful hill stations established by the British. This wonderful hill station is situated on the mid hills of Shivalik Mountains. Mussoorie is situated at 6600 ft above from sea level and only 35 km from Dehradun, Capital of Uttarakhand. This British colonial establishment is one of the best tourist hill destinations in India. Its natural and scenic beauty always attracts the tourists from different parts of world.

History of Mussoorie:

The hill city Mussoorie was first discovered by the Captain Young and his friend Mr. shore in year 1825. After the search city, it developed as a holyday resort.

In early days of establishment (During British rule) in most of the parts of city Indians were not allow to come. But after independence it developed as a tourist destination. In 1959, Dalai Lama established a Tibetan Government of Exile from Mussoorie, which later shifted to Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh.

Mussoorie Tourist Attractions


Mussoorie popularly pronounce as ‘Queen of Hills’. This perfect hill station has lot of breathtaking sights for visit. So here we start:

Gun Hill:

Gun hill is a second highest peak of Mussoorie. One can reach at this top with a cable car, which gives a trilling experience.

One can climb to gun hill by following old route on his/her foot. From this height you can enjoy the bird view of Doon valley and splendor view of the Himalayan range.

Camel’s back road:

This approx 3 km of distance, which state from the Kulri Bazaar and end at library Bazaar. During the walk in a street one can feel the mood of British Raj. The sunset gives a magnificent view from the camel’s back road.

Kempty fall:

Kempty is a biggest fall in the valley surrounded by mountains. It is situated 8 km from Mussoorie, located at Mussoorie- Yamunotri road.

Company garden:

This garden is situated about 4 km from city bus stop. This garden has a many species of flora.

Jharipani fall, Bhatta fall, Nag Devta temple, childer’s lodge, Mussoorie Lake, and Sir George Everest house are some other beautiful places, must see during Mussoorie tour.
