Bazaar Street:
The Street of Leh’s main market is the most popular tourist site. The most crowded part started from northern side of city and reaches up to southern part of the city. In the street you would like to purchase woolen, tea, salt and semi precious stones, choices will be yours.
Leh Palace:
This nine story palace is a major attraction of the Leh city. This Tibetan architecture masterpiece was built by King Sengge Namgyal in 17th century. The palace has a small museum, a collection of thangka paintings and old battle arms displayed here. At the 4th floor of palace Dukhar temple is situated which is a real image of faith and divine power, reflected by the image of the 1000-armed goddess Tara, collection of ancient masks, weapons, and musical instruments.
Ecological Centre:
Ecological Center is running by a local self-helping group, Ladakh Ecological Development group (LEDeG). In this Center they organized an awareness and teaching program for the understanding and knowledge of Ladakh’a or Leh’s ecological system.
Shanti Stupa (Peace Pagonda):
Shanti Stupa was built by the peace sect of Japan in 1983. One can reach here by foot or by Jeep your choice. From the top of such great height you can enjoy the panoramic view of Leh and cloud covered mountains.
