Hyderabad Tourism Information
Hyderabad is the capital city of Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. This is a 5th most populated city of India (Approx 68 lake population). The city also called as ‘The City of Nawabs’. Hyderabad city has a great history, unique architectural wonders, and multilingual culture. Geographically and culturally Hyderabad consider as a meeting point for North and South.

History of Hyderabad:
Hyderabad city was founded by Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah, fifth ruler of Qutb Shahi dynasty, on the bank of Musi River in 1591. During the reign of Shahi dynasty (During the 16th and early 17th) Hyderabad city developed rapidly, especially Indo-Persian and Indo-Islamic literature and Culture. During that time Hyderabad city became a center of a vibrant diamond trade.
Golconda diamond mines are the birth place of the most famous diamond in the world viz. Hope Diamond, Koh-i-Noor. Hyderabad became known for its gardens (Bags) and its salubrious climate. After the fall of Shah Dynasty, Mughal came in the power, in year 1684 Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb captured Hyderabad city. Aurangzeb appointed a governors of the city gained more autonomy. In year 1724, Asaf Jahi-I, who was granted the title Nizam-Ul-Mulk, defeated a rival official to established control over the city. Successors of Asaf Jahi dynasty ruled the city as a Nizams of Hyderabad until a year after India’s independence from British.
After the Indian independence in 1947, Hyderabad became a sovereign state. India then enforced an economic blockade. As a result Hyderabad Nizam signed a standstill Agreement with the Indian Union. On September 17 in 1948, The Nizam signed the Instrument of Accession to Indian Union. |

Birla Mandir: this temple was built by the Birla Foundation in Hyderabad. The temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara, is a magnificent example of great architecture.
The granite statue of Lord Venkateshwara is about 11 feet tall and a carved lotus forms an umbrella on the roof.
The temple is a great mixture of South Indian, Rajasthani and Utkal Temple architecture. It is built for a period of ten year and consecrated in 1976.

Charminar:
Charminar a mosque of the four minarets, this more than 400 year old monument is a Landmark for the Hyderabad city. The monument was built by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah in year 1591 to commemorate the eradication of plague from the city. The majestic structure Charminar looks magnificent in the night when it is illuminated. Charminar is basically known for its caving and moldings. This masterpiece is a perfect example of Persian and Islamic architecture. This building reflects a royalty and grace of Nawabi era.
Hussain Sagar:
This grand lake was built by Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali in 1562, during the reign of Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah. This man made 24 km long lake was built on the tributary of the River Musi to meet the water and irrigation needs of the city. The famous 18 meter tall Buddha statue is situated in the middle of the lake. The Hussain Lake separates the twin cities Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Falaknuma Palace, Golconda Fort, Chowmahalla Palace, Salar Jung Museum, Taramati Baradari, Chilkur Balaji Temple, Gandipet, and
Laad Bazaar are some other known or famous places of Hyderabad city. This must need to visit during Hyderabad Tour.
