Alai Minar, was constructed by Alauddin-khilji, Quwwat-ul-Islam, a mosque constructed by Qutub-ud-din in 1198. The famous iron pillar, which was erected in the 4th century also situated at Qutub complex.
India Gate:
India gate was constructed by Edwin Lutyens during the period of 1921- 1931. Earlier it was known as ‘All India war memorial’ actually it was made on the memory of those Indian soldiers, who lost their lives in world war-II and Afghan war. This 42 meter high structure located at the heart of New Delhi. An eternal flame (Amar Jawan Jyoti) burns at the foot of the gate and names of 90,000 martyred Indian solders are inscribed on the walls of the India gate.
Dilli Haat:
Dilli Haat is one of the famous hanging out sights of Delhi. One can get different type of handicraft items, which displays here, come from across the country. Dilli Haat is developed by the government for the promotion of handicraft industry and provides a market for ruler artisans. Dilli Haat is situated opposite INA market, near AIIMS.
Chandni chowk:
Chandni chowk is an oldest market of Delhi and it is situated opposite to Red Fort. This one of the most crowded places of Delhi still have a feel of old era, it was established by Mughal emperor Shahjahan. It has a numbers of gullis (lanes) Like Paratta wali gulli (famous for different verities of parattas), a gulli where one can get any type of real or artificial jewelry and a gulli where all type of electric items available to you.
Old fort:
This fort was built by Sher Shah Suri during 1538-1545. This is an enormous piece of architecture. The Fort has three big gates, of late only one gate is using for entry in the Fort. The Fort needs a renovation, but still there are a lot of wonderful places to visit.
Humayun’s tomb:
This tomb was built by Humayun’s wife Haji Begum on his memory, in 1565-66. This red and white huge building is a memorable piece of architecture, which inspired Shahjahan to build the wonder, Taj Mahal.
