Bareilly is situated at the river side of Ramganga. This is an important city of Indian state Uttar Pradesh.
This small scale industrial area is famous for Zari Zardozi work on clothes and furniture work. The city is also known as Bans Bareilly, because of finest work on bamboo.
History of Bareilly:
About 600 year ago the places was first noted by Jagat Singh Katehriya who founded a village named Jagatpur at the beginning of 15th century.
Later his two sons Bans Deo and Barel Deo founded the Bareilly. Bans Deo was killed in a revolt against Mughals. After a long effort finally Mughals captured the city. Later Rohillans and Avadhs ruled the region and 1801 Rohilkhand surrendered to British’s East India Company, including Bareilly.
