Anantapur is the second largest district of Andhra Pradesh in India, after Ladakh (J&K). Anantapur also called Anantpuram, has a fast growing city with a five lake of population.

It is a birth place of Sri Satya Sai Baba, is believed to be the rebirth of Shirdi Sai Baba. Presently Anantapur district is famous for its silk trade.

History of Anantapur:

The tale behind the nomenclature of the city is that, the city got its name from ‘Anaatasagaram’, a huge tank, which means ‘Endless Ocean’.

Thimmamma Marrimanu:

This is a 550 year old remarkable banyan tree. It has been mentioned in Gunnies Book of World Records for its enormous size.
