Anaimudi, South India's highest peak, is within the hill
station's environs. Also proximate is the Eravikulam National
Park, home of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr.
However, the natural
habitat of the Nilgiri Tahr is Rajamal, the hill station
located 15 km from Munnar. Visitor may even consider South
India Holidays in Ramakalmedu, which offers a sweeping panorama
of the villages of Bodi and Cumbum.
Peeremede is a lovely hill station, a staple in discriminating
South Indian Tours. It is an ideal retreat in a South
India Holidays Package.
The area is characterized by sprawling gardens of tea,
coffee, cardamom, rubber and eucalyptus. The summer residence
of the Rajas of Travancore is an important sight here.
Apt to figure in most South India Tour itineraries is
Ponmudi, a verdant hill resort. Amidst mountain flowers,
butterflies, rivulets, tea estates and mist covered valleys,
Ponmudi offers cottages and dormitory accommodations. |

Lying sixteen
kilometers southwest of Munnar, Devikulam is a quaint hill
station figuring in routes of Southern India Tours.
A charming lake complements the rolling expanse of the area.
Legend has it that Sita Devi, the holy consort of Lord Rama, descended to this lake. In turn, the place came to be renowned as Devikulam, meaning the “lake of the goddess”.
