North of the subcontinent,
there's a realm not of this planet. It is a high-altitude
area known as Ladakh, whose somber wasteland is reminiscent
to that of the moon. To the area's visitors, it is
every way the elusive Moonland of India.
Another name
for "land of high passes", Ladakh may be
barren, but it is renowned as an Adventure Tourism
India destination for trekking and mountaineering.
One of India's most sparsely populated areas, Ladakh
is a region in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, smack
in between the Karakoram Range and the Himalayas.

Here the altitude undulates so much that they range between
9000 feet and 25,170 feet. As for the climate, this is the
one place where one can suffer from sunburn and frostbite
simultaneously.
India Adventure Tours promote Moonland not only for
its haunting wastelands, but also for its quaint monasteries
and lakes.
Among monasteries, many an Adventure Tour India is apt
to stop at the Hemis Monastery, which is Ladakh's largest
monastery.
The Thikse Monastery is also often part of Adventure
Tours India since it boasts of a huge gold-plated copper
statue of Lord Buddha. However, the most accessible monastery
of Ladakh is Sankar Gompa. |

Ladakh's lakes are the very pictures of serenity amidst
an alien landscape. India Adventure Travel through Ladakh
would not be complete without a stop at Tso Morari, the largest
of the Ladakh lakes – so large that it looks like a
sea, on this moon. Stopovers in this Adventure Tour India
include Kis Kyaghr Lake, on whose banks trekkers can rest.
Ladakh is not all devoid of flora and fauna - the Hemis High Altitude National Park provides a perspective of Wildlife Tours India at a high altitude. In fact, this is celebrated as one of India's highest wildlife sanctuaries.
Contrary to opportunities of solitude, Ladakh has good accommodation even high atop the earth.
By far, India Adventure Tour Packages can arrange for the best hotels in the region, such as Dragon, Shambha La, Laser Mo, Lotus, Mandala and Mahay.
